The South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Complex consists of a 25 yard indoor/outdoor year round swimming pool, gymnasium, weight room, kitchen, crafts room, various meeting rooms, changing/shower facilities, outdoor volleyball and basketball courts, picnic area and Parks and Recreation Department offices.  

In the winter, the swimming pool is covered; in the summer the cover is removed. 

Just next door to the swimming pool is the ice arena. The South Tahoe Ice Arena is a full-service regulation NHL size sheet of ice, locker rooms, snack bar, retail store, arcade, and party rooms! This public facility offers ice skating and hockey lessons as well as public skate sessions .  And what a great place to hold your child's birthday party !  For more information on parties, lessons, and leagues call the Ice Arena at (530) 542-6262.

In the same complex families will find a delightful playground and picnic area.

The complex is maintained and operated by the City of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department who provide a well-rounded social, aquatic and physical recreation programs for both people of the community and visiting tourists. 

The Parks and Recreation Department has a wide variety of indoor and outdoor park facilities which can be used by individuals, clubs or groups for parties, weddings or meetings.  For information on rental rates and available dates, please call Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at (530) 542-6056  

During the summer months, the South Lake Tahoe Rec. Department offers two very popular day camp programs. Camp Tadaka & Camp Radical are recreational programs designed to provide enrichment, entertainment and recreation activities for first through eighth graders.  Please consult with one of the leaders or front desk staff, (530) 542-6056, if you have any questions. Before signing up your children for any of the Day Camps or Fun Trips, please consider their maturity, emotional and physical abilities. 

Activities: Arts and crafts, games, swimming, field trips and hikes, skating and bike rides are some of the activities we provide.  Camp Tadaka will participate in all "Fun Trips".  A calendar of the entire summer is available by clicking here.
