Tickets are now on sale for the Lake Tahoe Music Festival.  This summer marks the 27th consecutive season of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival. Founded in 1982 by Edgar Braun, conductor of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, the Festival has grown in scope yearly with the dedication and involvement of many local residents and businesses. With its scenic venues, over 12,000 expected attendees and the diverse programming of our concert season, the Lake Tahoe Music Festival remains the largest summer cultural event in the Lake Tahoe area.   
 
On Thursday, July 23rd , Fourplay, a contemporary jazz  quartet will play at the
West End Beach at Donner Lake.   For nearly two decades,  Fourplay has combined elements of R&B, pop and a variety of other sounds with their jazz sound. The group has produced several Billboard hits.

On Saturday, July 25th, Huey Lewis and the News will play at Old Greenwood Resort.  Formed from two rival Bay Area bands in 1979, their contagious brand of straight-ahead rock n’ roll has outlasted countless trends, selling over 20 million albums worldwide in the process. Huey Lewis & Festival organizers point out, "The News have carried the banner as the quintessential American rock band, endearing them to millions of fans and earning them the right to mark their place on the pop history map.

July 30th, it's "Broadway Night" at the Tahoe Donner Driving Range.  Enjoy the music of Rogers & Hammerstein, The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring soloists Rachel York and Sal Viviano.

On Saturday, August 1st, Boz Scaggs will play at Old Greenwood Resort.  After first finding acclaim as a member of the Steve Miller Band, singer/songwriter Boz Scaggs went on to enjoy considerable solo success in the 1970s. Born William Royce Scaggs in Ohio on June 8, 1944, he was raised in Oklahoma and Texas, and while attending prep school in Dallas met guitarist Steve Miller. Scaggs joined Miller's group the Marksmen as a vocalist in 1959, and the pair later attended the University of Wisconsin together, where they played in blues bands like the Ardells and the Fabulous Knight Trains.  In the 1980's, many fans may remember, Boz Scaggs operated the Blue Light Cafe, on Union Street in San Francisco.

On Thursday, August 6th, at Homewood Mountain Resort , enjoy the improvisational jazz of  The Yellowjackets featuring Mike Stern.

The festival's classical finale will be performed by The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday, August 8th at Homewood Mountain Resort
